At Group 1 MINI, we know how important it is to make sure your MINI is in full working order. We also know that an MOT is vital for ensuring the safety of you and your passengers when on the road. Our MINI specialist technicians are here to make sure that your vehicle is safe for you, your passengers and other road users. Being without your car can be an inconvenience, which is why our technicians work to the highest standards to return your MINI to you as quickly as possible.
An MOT test is an essential evaluation that checks your vehicle's safety, roadworthiness, and emissions standards. It covers various components, from brakes and fuel systems to lights, mirrors, and seatbelts, ensuring everything operates correctly for safe driving.
Looking after your MINI is important, so it makes sense to have the same specialists take care of your MOT and service. A MINI-trained technician is far more likely to spot a problem early than a general motor mechanic, which could save you having to pay a much bigger bill a few hundred miles down the road.
When you bring your MINI to a Group 1 MINI centre, you can benefit from:
Your MINI will be in safe hands and will benefit from the finest quality servicing at your local MINI Service and MOT Centre.
Brand-new vehicles do not require an MOT test until they are three years, after which your MINI will need to have an MOT once every 12 months for it to be road legal. The time of registration of your MINI will tell you when its first MOT is due.
For your MINI to pass its first MOT, it will undergo a series of tests and checks to ensure that important parts of your vehicle meet the legal registrations. Keep your MOT expiry date the same by getting an MOT test up to a day before it is due. Alternatively, you can change your renewal date by getting it up to one month before your current MOT certificate is due to expire.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your MINI receives an MOT test by a trained professional every 12 months. If you do not get an MOT, your insurance will become invalid and you will be driving illegally. You could be fined up to £1,000 if you fail to provide a valid MOT certificate upon request.
An MOT generally takes between 45 and 60 minutes to complete, but it’s always best to allow for at least an hour. There are a few things you should consider when booking your MOT:
MINI MOT Protect covers your repairs, in the unlikely event that your MINI fails its first MOT. Repairs, replacements and labour are covered on a long list of key items from electrical lighting equipment to steering and suspension. MINI MOT Protect is applicable only for the first MOT on a new vehicle.
A maximum fee of £54.85 is set by the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency for official test centres. Our team of expert MINI-trained technicians will talk you through any remedial work should your MINI need it. We are here to take care of your MINI, making sure that it is always in peak condition.
